I have translated RoundCube mail script into Bengali. You can download the localization files here. Just make sure to save them (in case you edit the files) with UTF-8 as encoding. Right-click and save.
labels.inc
messages.inc
Instructions:
- Create a new folder in ‘program>localization’. Name it ‘bn’. Place the localization files in it.
- Locate the file ‘index.inc’ under ‘program>localization’. Edit it. Inside
$rcube_languages = array() add the following line <'bn' => 'Bengali',
You will have to repeat this every time you update.
The cpanel of your server most likely gives you some obscure mail app-s like Neomail, Horde, Squirrel, etc. You can opt for Gmail for domain or similar services from others. But there is something even better. Start your own webmail. Install a fine mail script called Roundcube.
Installation is very easy. More so when Paul Stamatiou has written a great how-to article on this, full with screenshots. He wrote this auite sometime back. It is still relevant and you can safely refer to it.
Once installed, you will get a cool interface powered by lots of AJAX. It is completely skinnable like Wordpress. It uses XHTML and CSS 2. You can even translate RoundCube to your own language. I myself did that actually - translated RoundCube to Bengali. You can replace the default RoundCube logo with your own. Paul has detailed instcuctions on this.
You can test RoundCube on its demo site and see screenshots. I bet you will love Roundcube.
Very few people actually make use of the “Arrange Icons By” feature of Windows. You can arrange your ‘the contents of ‘My Documents’ in a very nice and useful manner.

- open My Documents. Right click on an empty area.
- Click Arrange Icons By>Modified
- Next click Arrange Icons By>Show in Groups
Now the documents will be neatly arranged in the order you last used them. Makes sense if you have a really large number of files in your ‘My Documents’.
The battle started by Gmail is still on. Come May, Yahoo Mail users will enjoy unlimited storage. It is interesting to note the old days when Yahoo started with 4 MB of mailbox space. Then came Gmail, with its stunning 1 GB offering prompting others to follow suit. As of now, Gmail offers 2.8 GB, Hotmail 1 GB, Windows Live Mail 2 GB, Lycos 3 GB and Yahoo 1 GB.

The transition from 1 GB to unlimited space will be phased out over a few months to avoid hassles. So will finally Yahoo lure away lost customer base from Gmail? Probably not. Gmail’s efficient anti-spam features are tough to beat. I will have to dig my head to remember when I had actually last accessed my Yahoo Mail account. It’s so full of spam!
IBM has unveiled a optical transceiver chipset that uses light pulses instead of sending electrons over wires. This chipset has the ability to move information at speeds of 160GB per second. At this speed, downloading a full length HD movie will take a second!
