Well this is not about Apple, the king of fruits but about the consumer electronics giant Apple Inc.
In news almost everyday these days with their recent launch of iPhone, their stocks have gone up by 3.8pc.
Its only been a few weeks after its launch and iPhone is already a phenomenon. According to some reports there are already as many as 7 million people in UK and 19 million in US who are ready to pay $499 to $599 to get their hands on one of the iPhones.

I recently had the chance of using the Nokia 3110 Classic - my sis bought it yesterday. It’s a new phone, released in Q2 2007. At an affordable price of INR 6800 this phone is really cheap considering it boasts of a 1.3 MP camera and a host of other features.
Camera
The camera is good enough. It has an 8x zoom. The night-mode was missing in the video recorder though. I tried taking my own pic by turning on the self-timer but the mirror meant for self-portraits was missing at the back which made it difficult.
Sound
The in-built loudspeaker sounded great to my ears as I surfed through FM radio channels. It’s sweet and doesn’t crack at full volume. A volume controller is present on the side. The sound, however, gets muffled when the phone lies flat as the speaker is on its back. The in-flight mode lets you listen to music anytime. The headset which is part of the package is a pleasure to hear as well. The built-in media player plays these formats - MP3/MP4/AAC/AAC+/H.264/WMA.
Political outfit Shiv Sena has pledged to block anti-India content on Orkut, the social networking site which is like a phenomenon in India. Shiv Sena is known for their radical view against whatever they see as western culture. These self-appointed cultural guardians are known to create havoc on Valentine’s Day vandalizing shops and attacking clubs. In the past they had digged up the cricket pitch at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to disrupt a India-Pakistan match. Continue reading ‘Cultural Guardians Go Tech-Savvy, Old Habits Remain Though!’

I think the above picture says everything. You’re added to some “service” like Netlog or anything, and you get that e-mail with that most ridiculous title. “John Doe wants to be your friend.” I don’t need no freaking service telling me that. If John wants to be my friend, then he should just come up and talk to me, ok? Even if I click Accept, that just adds me on his list. I wouldn’t even imagine friendships being a part of an automated PHP script.

I bet few of you have seen those ads that Apple has put up in order to persuade users that a Mac is the way to go. And all those ads Apple thinks are funny. I don’t see it. I have a really loose sense of humor. Trust me. I watch “Married with Children”, “America’s Funniest” and “Friends” and have a laugh every single time, even if I have seen the same episode a thousand times. You get how bad my sense of humor is.
But I don’t see whatever is fun in those ads. Now, you have the right to disagree with me. Not that I like people disagreeing with me, but you have the right.
Any of you who have been watching the updates on the graphics cards market will know that NVidia has won this round. Or have they?
It actually seems to be depending on how much money you’re willing to spend on a graphics card. On the mid-range of both companies (call me 8800 GTS if I’m green, 2900XT if I’m red), we saw AMD/ATI grab NVidia by the throat and swing them around like a… ehm… something that swings… around. Going higher, where names get really cool and extreme and stuff, ATI’s 2900XTX loses sorely against NVidia’s 8800 GTX. I don’t see any benchmarks comparing any of ATI’s cards against the 8800 Ultra, and they shouldn’t anyway. The owners of the latter gathered together wouldn’t even form a football team if they wanted.
So just as everyone thought the war would be over, ATI hit back in time, and for people like me that are looking to fork out between 200-300 euros, it seems like the right way to go.
But no conclusion can be made, as always. The graphics card market is fast as hell, and the two companies should be fighting each other for a long time to come.
I don’t care about the high range. People that fork out so much money on their PCs probably have enough time to spare to check benchmarks for themselves. But everyday gamers can only hope that NVidia will lower the prices on those GTS’s, and get us in line for an upgrade soon.

For my first post I thought I should provide a guide for the more advanced of you who feel that their current Windows installation is just too cluttered with unwanted programs, services, garbage and bad driver installations, taking the magic out of your games. Where magic, is good performance.
Installing Windows from scratch, thus having a pure non-cluttered installation to work on, usually helps with lots of problems regarding games, programs, drivers and even Windows itself. How many times you’ve noticed that the same game plays flawlessly on your other Windows installation or a friends’ one, while it won’t even start on yours?
But, re-installing Windows comes at a cost. Your registry is gone, which means that most games need to be re-installed. That could prove to be a very lengthy process, and maybe you’ve even thrown out the disks of some older games that still reside on your hard disk and that you still enjoy using a No-CD or image.
So, how do we avoid having to re-install all our games and programs that just won’t work, although they’re still on our HDD? No other way but using this guide, of course!
Well, I’d like to introduce myself since I’m new here. But I’ll spare you that. I’m not that special. All you should know about me is that I’m called Leftos, and since I’m a friend of the admin I got a writing spot on TechPointer.
You really feel jealous by now eh? Well, sucks to be you.
Anyway, I’ve been told this is a blog regarding tech updates. Shall I ruin it with emo-like posts of how my life sucks? Mmm… Probably not.
So it’s not such a special event for the site, is it? Nope, it isn’t.
P.S. Quite more useful post coming up soon.
