Pointing Technology To The Masses

The online world has been atwitter (if u dunno what this means, time u started twitterin) with the word ‘chrome’ ever since Google released their open-source browser Google Chrome. Chrome is a looks-dont-matter browser loaded with some robust java engine. Here each tab runs as a separate process. So if a tab crashes due to a bad site. The browser doesn’t crash, only the tab crashes. There is a comic story on the chrome site which explains these in detail. The comic is worth taking a look at, I tell you. Chrome sure looks promising, though a Firefox fan like me isn’t shifting immediately. I would rather wait for Firefox to get better taking cues from the good things about Chrome. Or if someone’s in a hurry, he might ‘chromify’ Firefox to some extent! See Enable Chrome’s Best Features In Firefox. It crashed once with me and twice with another friend during the few hours we surfed with it, acceptable since it’s still in beta. Only time will tell if Chrome can make browser crash a thing of the past.
