Pointing Technology To The Masses

I have been eagerly waiting for YPN to arrive in India. The wait seems to be finally over with Yahoo acquiring 35-50% of Indian ad company Tyroo. So that is not YPN exactly, nevertheless it’s Yahoo at least.

Tyroo has a minimum payment amount of INR 2500 and a minimum payout period of 1 month. At present, there are 1200 webmasters in the ad network. But advertisers are not too many. The situation may improve over time.
Tyroo took one day to approve my application. You can see the ads in action on Niponwave.
An example of Tyroo ad -

Any aspiring internet advertising company can hardly ignore the fast-growing online market in India. Yahoo’s entry was inevitable. Many more will follow suit, no doubt. But I am afraid Yahoo has entered a market that is already dominated by Google. Forget the biggies, even every small and medium business (SMB) is taking the Adwords route. It will be interesting to see if Tyroo can create a dent in Google kingdom. Tyroo is surely great news for all those Indian webmasters who were banned by Adsense and have been eagerly awaiting YPN!
Update: Tyroo has turned out to be a real disappoint. On Niponwave, which has mostly Indian visitors with monthly 2 lac+ monthly page views, it yielded zero revenue in a week. Their customer service never replied to my question. The user-interface really needs improvisation. And as I said before, they have few advertisers. To conclude, Tyroo is really not worth trying at this moment though things are likely to change in future.

It hardly has advertisers. On my forum, it doesn’t display ads even after scrolling through so many pages on my sites. I think its better to wait atleast 1 year to try it again. Its still in nascent age.
I had talked to the team of Tyroo. They are in the process of getting new advertisers. They even told me they are trying to grab international advertisers too.
Yes they are still raw in this field. It is just matter of time..
